The Proform 67905 Handheld Connecting Rod Cap Splitting Tool is a useful tool for separating rod caps from connecting rods. It is made from billet aluminum and has a plastic handle, which is strong enough. A tip for using the tool is to loosen the caps a little bit to make the cap come off straight. It works fine on a small block Ford with a 2.123" as well, but on a bare rod (without bearing) it won't go much bigger. A piece of rubber or something to take up some space would allow it to work on larger rods. It is a good tool for the money and worth every penny.
