What is the capacity of the Lincoln 3639 Used Fluid Drain?

The Lincoln 3639 has a capacity of 25 gallons, making it ideal for draining used fluids from various vehicles efficiently. This ample capacity ensures that mechanics or DIY enthusiasts can effectively drain oil, coolant, and other automotive fluids without frequent interruptions. For instance, when servicing multiple vehicles, this larger reservoir minimizes the need to stop and empty the unit, thereby enhancing productivity in both professional and home garage settings.

How does the self-evacuating feature work?

The self-evacuating feature allows for automatic fluid disposal without manual intervention. This is accomplished through a pump mechanism that effectively draws fluids into the tank and expels them into a waste collection container. This function is particularly beneficial for mechanics during routine oil changes or when flushing systems, as it saves time and reduces the likelihood of spills. Imagine finishing a job knowing that the fluid is moved efficiently and safely, allowing you to focus on your next task.

What types of fluids can the Lincoln 3639 drain?

The Lincoln 3639 is designed to handle a variety of fluids, including motor oil, transmission fluid, coolant, and more. This versatility makes it an essential tool in automotive repair shops as well as for personal vehicle maintenance. For example, when conducting a complete service for a vehicle, users can rely on the same unit to drain different fluids, streamlining the process and keeping workspaces organized and clean.

Is the discharge hose durable?

Yes, the 7 ft. nylon-reinforced discharge hose is built for durability and flexibility, allowing for ease of use during fluid disposal. The nylon reinforcement ensures that the hose withstands wear and tear from repeated use and exposure to various fluids. When working in tight spaces under vehicles, this durable hose provides users the ability to maneuver without the risk of damage, making it a reliable choice for both professional workshops and individual garages.

What is the length of the evacuation hose?

The evacuation hose measures 6.5 feet in length, providing ample reach for maneuvering and connecting to various containers. This length offers versatility, making it convenient to position the evacuation hose at an optimal distance from the fluid source. For mechanics working on large vehicles, this extended hose length allows for easier access to hard-to-reach drains, enhancing the workflow and ensuring that all fluids are efficiently evacuated.

Can I use this fluid drain with heavy-duty vehicles?

Yes, the Lincoln 3639 is suitable for use with heavy-duty vehicles as well as standard cars. Its robust design and capacity make it effective for larger fluid volumes typically found in trucks and SUVs. For example, when changing oil in a heavy-duty truck, the large 25-gallon capacity means fewer trips to empty the unit, making it ideal for commercial workshops dealing with a high volume of service.

What safety features does this product include?

The Lincoln 3639 is equipped with features designed for safety, such as an automatic shutoff to prevent overfilling and a secure locking drain valve. These features minimize the risk of spills and hazards associated with fluid handling. For instance, users can work confidently knowing that the tank's design minimizes the chances of leaks, allowing for a safe environment whether in a busy workshop or at home in the garage.

Is the Lincoln 3639 portable?

Absolutely, the Lincoln 3639 is designed with portability in mind. It typically features casters that make it easy to move around the shop or garage without cumbersome lifting. This allows technicians to bring the fluid drain to various workstations, whether under a vehicle or near an oil storage area. The ease of mobility aids in efficient workflow, especially when dealing with multiple vehicles at once.

What maintenance is required for this fluid drain?

Regular maintenance for the Lincoln 3639 is minimal but essential for optimal performance. It is advisable to clean the tank and hoses after each use to prevent residue build-up and ensure longevity. Checking the hoses for wear and tear will help maintain functionality. For instance, after completing an oil change, flushing the tank with water or a cleaning solution helps keep the unit in excellent condition for the next use.
