D-Link USB Network Adapters DWA-130/RE Editorial Review
The D-Link DWA-130/RE Wireless N USB Adapter has garnered mixed reviews from users, with experiences varying widely based on individual use cases and operating systems. One of the standout positives is its compatibility with various Linux distributions, particularly the latest LTS version of Ubuntu, which has received praise for its stable connections and ease of setup. Users have found that the adapter maintains a reliable connection even in challenging environments, such as a basement with significant structural barriers. On the flip side, some reviews highlight serious issues, especially with compatibility on Windows 7, where users reported inConsistent connections and a lack of available driver updates. The experience on Windows XP and Vista has been notably better, although some users faced challenges needing to source updated drivers manually. A recurring sentiment from those who faced issues is the feeling of frustration stemming from quality control – reports of receiving older versions of the product and unexpected model substitutions indicate that purchasing this adapter may come with potential pitfalls. While some users have expressed satisfaction after successful installations, the overall sentiment warns Prospective buyers to be cautious, particularly regarding specific operating systems and potential discrepancies in product versions received. In summary, the D-Link DWA-130/RE Wireless N USB Adapter may serve well in certain scenarios, especially for Linux users seeking a budget-friendly option, but potential buyers should weigh their operating system and possible headaches against the savings. **
