Forests & Forestry Editorial Review

The Practice of Silviculture: Applied Forest Ecology is a valuable resource for students, instructors, researchers, and managers interested in forest management. The book covers a wide range of Silviculture topics, including history and philosophy to practice, presented with clear and concise content, helpful pictures and diagrams. The tenth edition is also current and contains updated information. Although the paper is thin, it is study enough to take some abuse, and there is lots of space for taking notes. The only downside is that it is a lengthy book, over 700 pages long with lots of colour photos and diagrams, making it a pricey textbook if it was a hard copy. Overall, this is a must-read for anyone interested in enlightened forest management.
